Rocker OZZY OSBOURNE has accepted libel damages from a British tabloid newspaper after it made scathing remarks over his appearance at this year's (08) Brit Awards.
Journalists at newspaper the Daily Star claimed the Black Sabbath frontman ruined the show in February by throwing production of the live U.K. TV event into chaos after suffering a health scare.
The article under fire, entitled 'Ozzy Freak Show', falsely reported the star fell over twice, prompting Brit Award bosses to call an emergency meeting over whether they should withdraw him from the event and send him to hospital, reports Sky News.
The rocker was presenting the show alongside his wife Sharon and their two children Kelly and Jack.
The undisclosed amount will be donated to music manager Sharon's charity, the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program.
Osbourne's lawyer John Kelly stated editors at the publication now knew the allegations were "completely untrue".
The Osbournes have yet to make an official comment on the libel win as WENN goes to press.
